Custom Orthotics For Your Misaligned Feet

Sep 26, 2024

Hey everyone, today, I wanted to talk about foot type and what is special about 3D-printed custom orthotics.

Normal Foot Structure

Below is a picture of someone with a normal foot. You can see the middle of the foot is slightly elevated, which is a normal arch and a normal foot.

Flatfoot Structure

In the image below, the middle of the foot touches the ground, which is no arch; therefore, this is a flatfoot

Cavus Foot Structure

In the picture below, you can see the middle of the foot elevated too high with a high arch called the cavus foot.

Different Alignment In Legs

You can see the normal foot in the picture on the right.

See the line drawn on the back of the legs down to the heel. It is a straight line. This is a normal heel alignment, and on the right bottom picture, the line right in front of the ankle aligns with the second toe. Therefore, this is considered normal foot.

A picture of Different Alignment In Legs

Looking at the picture on the left, you can see the line drawn on the back of the legs down to the heel curves slightly.

This is not a normal alignment.

At the bottom, you can see the line is not aligned with the second toe. It looks like it’s aligned with the third toe this is considered a misalignment also known as pronation or it could also be a flat feet as well.

Heel Pronation

Here in the picture see the difference between the normal foot labeled as “after” versus the one with the label “before” which is a heel pronation.

If the foot is not aligned normally, it can affect the rest of your body. You could have back pain, hip pain, knee pain, or ankle pain.

Before and after heel pronation

In the picture below, take a look at the right foot in the right picture. This is the normal foot. When you have a normal foot, no back pain, no ankle pain, no knee pain, no hip pain, and everything is aligned straight.

However, if you look at the left foot with misalignment, it can affect the rest of the joint, it can affect the ankle joint, knee joint, hip joint, back joint, or back problem so everything is not aligned straight.

Custom-Fit Orthotics in Restore Podiatry

It’s time for the best true custom-fit orthotics. If you are looking for a better orthotic that offers proper support and is truly adapted to your foot then you need the best technology.

We take the time to perform a full biomechanical analysis. We then use the latest foot scanning technology to capture the highest quality scan possible.

First, we measure your foot by using a precise 3D scan which allows us to build correction into the printed base of the insole itself and apply different levels of stiffness where necessary.

Then we do complete dynamic gait analysis which will allow us to capture exact build time data as you walk and move and use it to make 3D printed devices.

These devices will be created to match the geometry of each foot and are calibrated to each foot’s dynamic pressure pattern with five different independent support zones that will adapt and respond to the way you move with each step with 3D visualization.

We will be able to create the perfect stiffness, flexibility, and dynamic control compared to traditional orthotics.

How Is 3d Printed Orthotics Different From Traditional Orthotics?

With traditional orthotics, we have to create separate modifications like adding a heel lift or adding a medial wedge, lateral wedge, or extrinsic post and this creates bulky orthotics.

3D-printed orthotics are thin and lightweight. Coupled with the best engineers, we produce the most advanced orthotics specific to your foot with one of the most advanced 3D printers in the world.

Wrapping Up…

Reconstruct your new custom orthotics with amazing accuracy ensuring that your feet are comfortably supported every day. 3D-printed orthotics don’t deform with heat and get absorbed as the traditional ones.

Your customized orthotics are ready for your foot, using this advanced process. We guarantee a perfect fitting orthotic, a clean, fast, and accurate process.
