Heel Pain: Causes and Treatment Options Available

What is Heel Pain?

Heel pain is a very common issue that anyone can experience. There can be multiple reasons behind it. Some can be a result of damage to the foot’s soft tissues, sometimes ligaments, or even tendons. Conditions like diabetes can also be one of the contributing factors.

Possible Causes Of Heel Pain

The foot condition of swelling of the plantar fascia, a thick ligament on the sole. This is often due to overuse or excessive strain on the foot.

This condition is caused by an acute inflammation of the Achilles tendon. It is usually caused by overexertion or sudden increases in activity.

A chronic degeneration of the Achilles tendon tissue can lead to severe foot pain along with stiffness and pain. It is often due to repetitive stress.

Degenerative changes in the plantar fascia ligament. This condition is caused by chronic overuse without sufficient recovery.

It is a general term for any plantar fascia pathology encompassing both inflammation and degenerative changes.

This is the general term used for Achilles tendon injuries, including both inflammation (tendonitis) and degeneration (tendinosis)
